Country Music Television

September 1st 1993 Country Music Television launched on the Astra satellite as one of the SKY Multi Channels. When I first saw Faith Hill, Little Texas, Pam Tillis, Tracy Bird and others, I was sold to country music. Sadly CMT ceased its transmissions about four and a half years later, March 31st. 1998, due to financial reasons.

Shortly there after, the owner Gaylord Entertainment sold CMT to Viacom. Now we must hope that Viacom relaunches CMT in the near future.
